FinnArctic-esittely:

Sonores Antiqui was founded in 1967, and it specialises in performing old music. The group has held over 100 concerts - of which a significant amount has been held in schools - and also performed on radio and TV. The setlist consists of music from the 13th - 18th centuries. The members of the group are:

Olli Ruottinen (1934-), who plays different types of flutes. He's studied at the Sibelius Academy, majoring in flute playing, and graduated in 1969. He's also studied playing the flute, baroque flute and recorder in Basel. He's the manager of Vantaa Music Academy since 1964.

Roy Asplund (1935-), instruments are fidel, viola d'amore and violin. Graduated as music teacher from the Sibelius Academy in 1965. Works at the Sibelius Academy as manager for the school music department.

Kimmo Hakasalo (1934-), main instrument is cembalo. Graduated as music teacher from the Sibelius Academy in 1964. Took a diploma in piano playing in 1967 and studied the cembalo with Enzio Forsblom as teacher. Piano teacher at the Sibelius Academy.

Teppo Tuominen (1933-), plays the cello and viola de gamba. Studied the viola de gamba in Germany and Switzerland. He's a teacher of theory and tune picking at the Vantaa Music Academy, also teaches at the Sibelius Academy and works as conductor for the Hyvinkää Orchestra.

Arto Juusela (1939-), plays the lute, cittern and vihuela. Also a well-known guitarist. He's a doctor by profession.

The members of the group have participated in the following courses for old music:

Schola Cantorum Basiliensis 1963 (baroque music)
Cinquiéme Séminaire Européen de Musique Ancienne (Belgium) 1969 and 1970

Vocalists:

Marja Holopainen (1943-), took a diploma in singing at the Sibelius Academy in 1970. Studied singing in Italy, among other places. First concert in 1971. Guest performed at the Finnish National Opera, also concerts in Tokyo. Performed old music since 1970.

Mikko Pasanen (1938-), at the Sibelius Academy he took diplomas in piano playing in 1968, and in singing in 1970. Concerts and solo performances in Finland. Won the male series in the international Hugo Wolf singing contest in Vienna in 1974. Performed old music since 1970. Lecturer in solo singing at the Sibelius Academy since 1976.

Sonores Antiqui is still an active group, after 40 years. A second LP, "Tansseja estampiesta allemandeen", was made in 1986.

Minulla ei ollut kumpaakaan levyä vielä FinnArctic-aikoina, vaan lainasin Sonores Antiquin LP:n kirjastosta, siirsin sen koneelle ja laitoin jakoon. Pari-kolme vuotta myöhemmin löysin Kampin Levykauppa Äxästä kappaleen, jonka takakannesta puuttuu bändikuva ja kotelon sisältä se iso vihko. Plääh, mutta sainpahan itse musiikin sentään jollain oikealla levyllä. Ei tarvinnut tyytyä enää itse tehtyyn CD-R-kopioon.

Joulukuussa 2013 Tavastian levymessuilla löysin tuon toisen, paremman kappaleen, jossa on vihko tallella ja bändikuva takakannessa.
